This can be accomplished by using an auxport printer attached to the terminal where the installation is being done. This will insure a printed audit trail if any problems should arise. c) As with any patch you apply to your system, you should do a full system backup immediately prior to the patch installation. It is imperative that you are sure that the backup finished completely, and that should the need arise, that you can restore from the backup. d) Patch 28 is a cumulative patch - it contains all routines and globals that were found in patches 1 through 27 as well as new enhancements. The primary purpose of this patch is to provide the following: 1)Add functionality to the OUTPATIENT PHARMACY 7.0 and IHS THIRD PARTY BILLING interfaces to allow information about why a POS claim was reversed to be passed from Pharmacy V7.0 to IHS THIRD PARTY BILLING V2.5. NOTE: this information will not be displayed until the interface is complete and the IHS 3PB patch has been released that displays the information 2)Remove functionality that was introduced in POS patch 22 that put claims that did not contain an insurer's tax id number into a HOLD queue until that information was provided. 3) Updates displayed information to indicate that problems should be reported to local helpdesk 4) Updated formats including changes to Medicare Part D insurer formats to allow billing for vaccinations. If you have not already run Patch 3 for Pharmacy Point of Sale V1.0, you should refer to the Patch 3 notes file for specifics regarding the functionality of the pre and post installation routines. If you have already installed Patch 3 of Pharmacy Point of Sale V1.0 the conversion will not run again. Instead, the pre init routine will simply delete the ABSP NCPDP Field Defs and ABSP NCPDP Formats files. Both files will be restored as part of the KIDS installation. As part of patch 28, pre and post init routines within the KIDS install will remove functionality introduced in POS v1.0 patch 22 including the global file that had been used to store claims put in a HOLD status due to a missing insurer tax id. Any claims existing in that file will be released to IHS Third Party billings before the file is removed. **************************************************************************** ************IMPORTANT************IMPORTANT************IMPORTANT************* Emdeon Hostfile Name Update On March 31, 2008, the IP address for Emdeon claims change from 199.244.222.6 to 170.138.220.70. In POS patch 24, the post init routine was modified to update the ABSP DIAL OUT entry to ENVOY DIRECT VIA T1 LINE which reflects the IP change to emdeonserver.ihs.gov and points to the new IP address (170.138.220.70). If you are not able to resolve the DNS name at your site, you must manually change the IP address back to 199.244.222.6 in the ABSP DIAL OUT field. After Installing this patch, if you are having this problem please see the addendum included with this patch. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS In all UCI's running Pharmacy Point of Sale: a) This installation requires all Pharmacy Point of Sale and Outpatient Pharmacy users be logged off the system. (There is no need to disable logins.) b) Do routine saves of ABSP*. (Note: Remove these saves from the system 14 - 21 days after this installation if no problems have been noted with the install and functioning of the software.) c) If you have not installed patch 3 of POS do global saves of all ABSP* globals. (Note: Remove these saves from the system 14 - 21 days after this installation if no problems have been noted with the install and functioning of the software.) d) Load patch and run Verify Checksums in Transport Global using option 2 in the KIDS Installation Menu. e) Install the absp0100.28k file using the Kernel V8.0 Kernel Installation and Distribution Systems (KIDS) menu while logged into your production UCI in programmer mode. Once you start the install, you must let it run to completion.
