GENERAL INFORMATION

        a) Print the notes file and review carefully, prior to attempting
           an install of this patch.

        b) Make sure to capture the terminal output of the installation
of this patch. This can be accomplished by using an auxport
printer attached to the terminal where the installation is
being done. This will insure a printed audit trail if
           any problems should arise.

        c) As with any patch you apply to your system, you should do
a full system backup immediately prior to the patch installation.
It is imperative that you are sure that the backup finished
completely, and that should the need arise, that you can
           restore from the backup.

        d) Patch 29 is a cumulative patch - it contains all routines
and globals that were found in patches 1 through 27 as
well as new enhancements. The primary purpose of this patch
           is to provide the following:

           1) Modify Report Menus and add new reporting options

           2) Add field 'Processor Control Number' to ABSP NCPDP FORMATS
              for reporting purposes

           3) Add field 'MED-CAL SUBSCRIBER ID' to ABSP PHARMACY to allow sites using
California Medicare formats a place to define this mandated
               site specific value

           4) Add and update formats

        e) A known issue with the KIDS install is the failure to remove a
particular item from a particular menu option. Installers are being
asked to run a line of code at the prompt in the namespace
where the patch is installed to remove that item.

****************************************************************************
******** SPECIAL INTERFACE PRECAUTION **********

If your site is running any non RPMS software that interfaces directly
with the RPMS Pharmacy Point of Sale package, it is imperative that you
contact your software vendor PRIOR to the installation of this patch to
insure that the interface's functionality will not be disrupted as a
result of the patch installation.

****************************************************************************
About the pre and post installation routine(s):

As a part of Patch 3, there were pre and post init routines within
the Kids install that aided in the restructuring of the ABSP
claims file. If you have not already run Patch 3 for Pharmacy
Point of Sale V1.0, you should refer to the Patch 3 notes file
for specifics regarding the functionality of the pre and post
        installation routines.

If you have already installed Patch 3 of Pharmacy Point of Sale
V1.0 the conversion will not run again. Instead, the pre init
routine will simply delete the ABSP NCPDP Field Defs and
ABSP NCPDP Formats files. Both files will be restored as part
        of the KIDS installation.

As part of patch 28, pre and post init routines within the KIDS
install will remove functionality introduced in POS v1.0 patch 22
including the global file that had been used to store claims put
in a HOLD status due to a missing insurer tax id. Any claims
existing in that file will be released to IHS Third Party billings
        before the file is removed.
