Installation Notes For ACHS V 3.0 Patch 19

CURRENT VERSION:  3.0    Patch  19

I.  GENERAL INFORMATION

    A) Certain files are written without a header or a tail
       section.  This patch restores the header and the footer.
       Also, this patch cleans up variables better to prevent
       functions from quitting unexpectedly.

    B) This patch is cumulative of previous patches.  There are
       2 M routine updated.

    C) There are no script updates.

    D) There are no changes to data dictionaries.

    E) The routines included is:

            ACHS
            ACHSPCC3


    F) All Unix scripts used in CHS are included.  They have
       not changed since patch 17, and are present only for
       area offices that have not installed patch17 or 18.



II.  CONTENTS OF DISTRIBUTION

    A) achs0300.19k  - KIDS routine install file
    B) achs0300.19n  - this file
    C) achs0300.19s1  - the script file to execute
    D) achs0300.19s2  - the file containing the scripts
    


III.  REQUIREMENTS

    A) CHS V 3.0
    B) IBM RS6000 running AIX and the ksh shell.  Scripts will
       not run on Microsoft DOS, Window 95/98/2000 or NT boxes.



IV.  INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

    A) Disable menu option ACHSMENU.

    B) Backup all CHS routines using %RS.
        1) D ^%RS
        2) select HFS.
        3) enter save file name such as 'ACHS_P19.20000905',
           where 20000905 is the date the snapshot is created.
        4) enter a comment such as 'Pre patch 19 snapshot'.
        5) select routines 'ACHS*' and 'AZZ*'.


    C) Perform KIDS install of file achs0300.19k.

    D) Enable menu option ACHSMENU.

    E) This step is for area office installs only.  It must be
       performed by a user with root or super user privileges.
        1) cd /usr/spool/uucppublic
        2) chmod ug+rwx achs0300.19s1
        3) ./achs0300.19s1

    F) In the event of an install failure, restore the snap
       shot file created in step IV.B.
        1) D ^%RR
        2) enter snap shot file name from step IV.B.3.
        3) restore all routines.
        4) To back out the script install at area offices only,
           a user with root or super user privileges will do
           the following. == indicates a comment, do not type
           that, but do what it says.  Otherwise, type the line
           exactly as it appears, followed by a carriage return.
            a) crontab -e
            b) == Use the cursor control key to get to the
               == first entry with a '#' comment about
               == automating running CHS
            c) dd
            d) == repeat steps b and c for each of the 4 lines
               == concerning CHS
            e) :wq
