The FDA revised the EUA for COVID-19 convalescent plasma with high titers of anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies on 12/28/2021, for treatment of COVID-19 in patients with immunosuppressive disease or getting immunosuppressive treatment, in the outpatient or inpatient setting. New HCPCS: C9507 2/18/2022: CMS established new HCPCS codes effective 2/11/2022, for the monoclonal antibody bebtelovimab product and administration, used for the treatment of mild-to-moderate COVID-19 in adult and pediatric patients. The FDA authorized the EUA on 2/11/2022. New HCPCS: M0222 M0223 Q0222 2/21/2022: AMA established a new CPT code effective 2/21/2022, for reporting severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) (coronavirus disease [COVID-19]) mutation identification in targeted region(s) for SARS-CoV-2 testing. New CPT: 87913 3/7/2022: New CPT codes have been established for the Moderna booster dose-specific COVID-19 Vaccine product and administration, which uses a 50 mcg/0.5 mL dosage concentration and is delivered in new booster dose-only packaging. These codes are distributed as inactive and will become effective upon receiving EUA or approval from the FDA. Inactive CPT: 91309 0094A 3/10/2022: CMS established a new HCPCS code effective 2/24/2022, for the monoclonal antibody product tixagevimab co-packaged with cilgavimab (EVUSHELD), used for pre-exposure prophylaxis of COVID-19.
