GENERAL INFORMATION a). It is generally considered a "best practice" to perform an in- stallation in a "Test system" prior to installing software in production. b). All LAB Users must be logged out of the Lab module due to the changes brought about by this patch. c). Print all notes/readme files. d). This patch IS NOT cumulative; i.e., all lab patches in sequence up through and including LR*5.2*1034 must be installed before installing this patch. e). If errors occur during the install, the patch will NOT have been installed correctly. The patch will need to be re- installed. f). It is recommended that the terminal output during installation be captured. This will ensure a printed audit trail will exist if any problems should arise. g). This install will take approximately 2 minutes to install. 2. REQUIREMENTS Lab Service Patch 1034 [LR*5.2*1034] 4. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS a). Log in as system manager and go to programmer mode. b). D ^XUP and choose the XPD MAIN option, the KERNEL INSTALLATION AND DISTRIBUTION main menu option. c). Choose INSTALLATION, and LOAD the KIDS patch lr__0520.35k file. ********************************************************** ********************* IMPORTANT NOTE ********************* ** ** ** The patch will *ONLY* install if the answer to the ** ** ** ** Has a >> SUCCESSFUL << backup been performed? ** ** ** ** question is YES after the INSTALL option has been ** ** selected. If not, the install aborts and then the ** ** RESTART and not the INSTALL option will have to be ** ** used to continue the install (unless the patch is ** ** UNLOADed). ** ** ** ********************* IMPORTANT NOTE ********************* ********************************************************** d). Install the patch, choosing LR*5.2*1035. See example process in file lr__0520.35ob e). Exit back to the programmer prompt. f). Installation complete. 5. INSTALLATION NOTES a). If doing multiple installs, you must say YES to accept the reinstallation of the Patch. b). Other than the over-riding the NO prompts for re-installation, it is necessary to accept most default prompts during the in- stall, except enter NO at the Want KIDS to INHIBIT LOGONs install prompt. c). Environment Errors The only environment issue the BLRPRE35 routine will examine is if the LR*5.2*1034 has been installed. If the LR*5.2*1034 has not been installed, the routine will output something similar to the following: ***************************************************************** Site: IHS TEST Database UCI Install Aborting due to the following Systems Environment issue: >>>>> LAB SERVICE 5.2 (LR) & Patch 1034 WAS NOT installed! <<<<<< Please print/capture this screen and notify the Support Center at 1-888-830-7280. ***************************************************************** d). A detailed listing of an example install of LR*5.2*1035 is in file lr__0520.35ob 6. POST INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS/NOTES a.) None. 7. DOCUMENTATION NOTE This patch is a maintenance patch for the LAB SERVICE module of RPMS. Issues found during the rollout of LR*5.2*1034 are addressed. There is no change to the documentation for LR*5.2*1034. The corrected issues are: a). Adding a test to an accession will not cause the user to enter the Clinical Indication process if valid data have been entered previously. b). Cancelling an order during the Clinical Indication process will update the status of the OERR entry in file 100 from PENDING to DISCONTINUED. c). The completed date/time on Interim Reports will print. d). Tests with an Accession Area of SENDOUT, but are not not mapped to a Reference Lab test, will not print a shipping manifest. e). When using Multi-Purpose accessioning, with multiple tests with multiple collection samples, valid Reference Ranges and units will display in the EHR tab. 8.
