Dr. Katrina Naasz never thought she would go to college, let alone dental school — she knew her parents couldn’t afford to pay for a higher education. So she became a dental assistant. But after working in a dental office for six years, she earned a bachelor’s degree and then graduated from dental school in 2003, becoming one of a small number of American Indian woman dentists.
