Activity: Architectural Keyword: Access to Loading Dock Background: At the Takopid Health Center, access to central stores, boiler room and the maintenance section do not have direct access from the exterior. This is undesirable since it add much heavy cart traffic to corridors. Lessons Learned: should be avoided. Supplies are difficult to receive and the maintenance section including boiler room operations remain intermixed with other facility departments which
is not ideal. Recommended Action: Future facilities should follow these basic guidelines and adjacies when developing designs. Central supply should be adjacent to the loading dock. The boiler room must be
located on a detached or semi-detached building. Location: Takopid Health Center - Puyallup, WA Program: OEHE/DFPC Date: 08/31/2001
