Summary:

The purpose of this highly interactive training for the Puyallup Tribal Health Authority Dental Staff is to teach how materials used for restorative, endodontic, preventive and prosthodontics therapies work. This training will provide the opportunity to review the step by step procedures for various materials and to better understand their working properties. In addition, patient protocols will be reviewed to include fluoride therapy, oral hygiene instruction, caries risk assessment and radiographic schedules. Also, new technologies, equipment, instruments and procedures that we have implemented will be presented.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
1. Understand the restorative materials used and proper technique for their use, to include Filtek Supreme, Prime and Bond NT, All-Bond, Panavia 21, Luxacore, ProTemp, Trim Acrylic and MicroPrime G to name a few.
2. Become familiar with the proper use and maintenance of the Elements Endodontic System.
3. Understand principles and techniques for proper oral hygiene instruction, fluoride application and the principles for the caries risk assessment and corresponding definitions. Understand guidelines for radiographic schedules.
4. Understand the Oral Surgery instruments that we use in our clinic. Re-familiarizing ourselves with forceps/elevators names/numbers and their functions.
5. Know how the AAAHC Accreditation Survey Process works, how we will improve.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
