2010 Catalog: All Courses

This 1-day lecture course is offered to review the latest in periodontal techniques to enhance restorative dental outcomes. Instruction will be given which covers diagnosis, indications and techniques periodontal-restorative treatment. This course will emphasize the need for identifying and patients for periodontal treatment and follow-up. In addition, a comprehensive review of principles, indications and techniques in periodontology/ prosthodontics will be provided. Enhancing treatment outcomes with implants/orthodontics will be covered as well as treatment of the medically compromised patient. Special attention will be given to providing care in austere environments and to treatment planning for patients living in isolated areas without routine access to care.

After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:

1. Correctly diagnosis periodontal conditions.
2. Determine adequacy of biologic width in planning restorative procedures.
3. Identify and treatment plan medically compromised patients.
4. Select appropriate therapy for periodontal patients.
5. Develop treatment plans for patients living in isolated areas.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
