DA0015: Concepts of Management for Dental Assistant Supervisors II
This course will build on basic management principles presented in DA Supervisors Concepts I. Advanced management topics will include Leave Restriction, Higher Levels of Discipline, and Performance Management [Standards, Appraisals and PIPs]. Dental assistant staff leadership areas will include Group Dynamics, Career Development, Mentoring, Delegation, Change Management and Brainstorming. The curriculum is flexible enough to address the individual needs of participants.
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
1. State the importance and benefits of staff development efforts.
2. Apply principles of advanced management segments and utilize templates to maximize staff productivity.
3. Explain the importance of group dynamics and adjust their leadership styles to improve their programs.

This course is for Dental Assistant Supervisors and not Dental Assistant Leads. Completion of Concepts of Dental Assistant Supervisor Management is required except as noted here. NOTE: for Dental Assistant Supervisors who were not able to attend the original Concepts of Dental Assistant Supervisor Management, the basic principles will be presented on Monday [April 23] of the course. All other participants who have previously attended the introductory course will join the course on Tuesday at 8:00 AM.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
