IHS STD Surveillance Reports
Through a collaborative between the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and IHS, a specific STD Surveillance report was developed in an effort to improve awareness of health disparities among AI/AN while striving to increase funding, resources, and community-based participatory research to benefit Native communities. CDC STD Surveillance Report -2011
The report, Sexually Transmitted Disease Surveillance, 2011 presents statistics and trends for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) in the United States through 2011. This annual publication is intended as a reference document for policy makers, program managers, health planners, researchers, and others who are concerned with the public health implications of these diseases.
Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS)
The YRBSS monitors priority health-risk behaviors and the prevalence of chronic health conditions among youth and young adults. The YRBSS is a national school-based survey conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in partnership with states, tribes, and territories. State-level, national, and some Tribal-specific AI/AN data are available through YouthOnline
, the YRBSS online database.
