Transmittal Notice 60-08

TN 60-08
07/29/60

BACKGROUND:

The attached material represents the initial statement of the over-all policy and procedures relating to Indian beneficiaries in the Indian Health Manual.  It is realized that this Chapter may need to be revised from time to time on the basis of the experience of the areas with it.  Meanwhile, any change or deviation from the policy stated in this Chapter must be approved by Headquarters.  It is also expected that each area will establish, where appropriate, priorities for care within the area and issue them as Supplements to this Chapter.

A table of contents for the Indian Beneficiary chapter is included in the material and should be used until such time as it is feasible to issue a comprehensive table of contents.
