BACKGROUND:

This transmittal forwards an addition to Part 1, Chapter 5, Delegations of Authority, to delegate to Service Unit Directors and Administrative Officers in addition to the Indian Heath and Alaska Native Area Directors, the authority to determine the extent to which funds are available for burial of patients dying in an Indian or Alaska Native Hospital or station.
