Transmittal Notice 83-02

BACKGROUND:

This transmittal transmits a revision of Part 1, Section 2 - Persons to Whom Services may be provided.

This revision is in compliance with recent legislation (P.L. 97-394) regarding non-Indian eligibility for services as Indian Health Service beneficiaries.

The Table of Contents is changed to remove the Exhibit 2-1.1 which is outdated.  The current regulations will be printed at a later date.

Part 2, Chapter 1, Section 2 - Persons to Whom Services may be provided.

Part 2, Chapter 1 - Page 1, TN No. 71.3, dated 6/7/71.

Note:  There is no change on page 2.

Remove the superseded page 1 and replace with enclosed page 1.  Remove Table of Contents and replace with attached Table of Contents.  Remove Exhibit 2-1.2.  File Transmittal Notice in the appropriate section.
