The Office of Direct Service and Contracting Tribes (ODSCT) is located in the Office of the Director, Indian Health Service (IHS), Department of Health and Human Services, Rockville, Maryland. ODSCT is responsible for a wide range of agency functions that are critical to the IHS' relationships with tribal leaders, organizations, and other American Indian and Alaska Native groups. ODSCT is the Agency's principal liaison with Indian organizations and more than 565 federally recognized tribes. ODSCT is a national program providing information, technical assistance, and policy coordination in support of Indian self-determination. ODSCT is the primary focal point for Title I, Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (ISDEAA) activities and implementation and direct service tribes.

DST Advisory Committee Recognition and Appreciation Awards - NOMINATION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO JULY 8, 2011
The Awards Subcommittee of the Direct Service Tribes Advisory Committee (DSTAC) is pleased to announce the opening of the nomination period for the 2011 Recognition and Appreciation Awards. This awards program was established to acknowledge and bestow gratitude upon individuals and groups that have advanced the goals and mission of the DSTAC and Direct Service Tribes. The DST Advisory Committee encourages all DST stakeholders to nominate health advocates within your Areas. Tribal Management Grant Program

2011 Training Opportunities for FY 2012 cycle announced!

The Office of Direct Service and Contracting Tribes administers the Tribal Management Grants (TMG) Program which was designed to assist Tribes and Tribal organizations develop and improve their management capability.

Each year the TMG program offers training to potential applicants to provide an overview of the program announcement, review program requirements and discuss project ideas and proposals. The date and city location has been confirmed, but the hotel site for this session is being negotiated; the training session will take place in June in Minneapolis, MN.
