Summary:

This webinar is specifically developed for dental staff from IHS, tribal, and urban programs in the Oklahoma City, Bemidji, and Great Plains Areas.

Medical-Dental Integration is an evolving approach to combine oral health with overall health. The coordination of dental health within primary care will provide a broader understanding how oral health affects the human body and medical conditions.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1.   Illustrate the importance of medical-dental collaboration in improving patient outcomes by addressing the interconnectedness of oral health and overall health.
2.   Explore the principles and benefits of interprofessional education for dental professionals, emphasizing its role in fostering effective communication and teamwork within healthcare teams.
3.   List three benefits to an Integrated Dental Hygiene Program
4.   List at least two successes of the OKCIC Integrated Dental Hygiene Program

Participants should be dental staff from IHS, tribal, and urban programs in the Oklahoma City, Bemidji, and Great Plains Areas.

Please Make Checks Payable to: Indian Health Service.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
