The IHS Division of Nursing Services (DNS) works to provide support, leadership, and direction through national policy and programs for the I/T/U nursing workforce at all levels so that they may provide safe and quality patient care services to fulfill the Indian Health Service mission.

DNS aims to lead the nursing workforce as the premier source of healthcare services through developing trusting relationships with patients/families, providing nursing excellence and innovation, and being a valued partner in the American Indian and Alaka Native communities we serve.
