Description:
This two and a half day course is designed to provide Site Managers with the basic knowledge and skills to manage their facility’s RPMS system on a daily basis. The course will cover basic RPMS management functions, utilities, operations, security, and identifying, troubleshooting and resolving common Caché, hardware, and software problems. Students will learn the skills to create and modify menus, add new and edit existing users, monitor and tune scheduled RPMS tasks, identify and resolve programming system errors, and manage RPMS devices.

Inpatient Pharmacy Informaticists who are members of the VA-IHS BCMA Cross Functional Team to include [a] Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority [CIHA], [b] Choctaw Nation Health Services Authority [CNHSA], [c] Chickasaw Nation Health System [CNHS, [d] Phoenix Indian Medical Center [PIMC], and [e] Whiteriver Indian Hospital. Description:
The RPMS Behavioral Health System v4.0 provides a graphical user interface to the Behavioral Health System application. The focus of this training is on direct provider entry of clinical data and other functionality in BHS v4.0 GUI. Some of the functionality featured in this training includes electronic signature, enhanced intake functionality, simplified data entry, and modified reports. The Reports and Manager Utilities modules of BHS v4.0 are not in the GUI format and an introduction to these functions will be conducted in the RPMS traditional “roll and scroll” format.

The BHS v4.0 Manager Utilities and Reports course is an advanced class for behavioral health Program Managers and/or Clinical Directors who are responsible for internal and external reports and exporting of behavioral health data. The class will be taught primarily in the roll and scroll version of the software therefore, proficiency in RPMS is strongly encouraged.
Over the course of the two-day session, the training will focus on:
Site Parameters in the Manager Utilities module: Exploring set up of the site parameters including discussion of access to records, coding queue, links to PCC, etc.
Data Entry Module: Generating “canned” reports that are available on the data entry menus such as Treatment Plans Needing Reviewed, GAF scores for one Patient, No Show report for a patient, etc.
Reports Module: Producing other management reports that are only available in the reports module exploring the functionality of the GEN and PGEN reports including exporting the information to a spreadsheet. Emphasis is placed on preparing the participants to generate reports that enable them to provide the outcome information for grants or to provide standardized reports to governing bodies, tribal leaders, etc.

iCare: A Population Management Tool

This is an intensive three day hands-on training on the iCare population management software. This course is designed to teach participants about the unique features and functionalities of iCare that include Care Management Event Tracking [CMET], HIV Management System, Meaningful Use, and Improved Patient Care. Participants will learn how to identify groups of patients who share user-defined characteristics [eg. Age, Diagnosis, Community, Scheduled Eye Clinic Appointments, Women’s Health Visits, Patients Assigned to a Provider, etc.] and create panels [patient lists] based on user definitions. Participants will customize their panel layouts, settings, and views of diverse patient data to identify care needs and manage and track clinical reminders and National Performance Measures.
