Wewoka Indian Health Center
The Wewoka Indian Health Center is a small rural Joint Commission accredited ambulatory health center. The center employs three physicians, two physician assistants, and one family nurse practitioner.
The clinic renders outpatient services in general medicine, medical imaging (including onsite mammography), pharmacy, optometry, dentistry, counseling for emotional problems, and nutrition counseling.
A state of the art wound care clinic is also offered. In house contracted services include ultrasound, orthopedics, nephrology, and psychiatry.
The Community Health Department operates several clinics as well as numerous outreach programs
with a focus on education. Staff includes a Health Educator, Program Assistant,
DM Nurse Educator, Dietician, 2 Exercise Specialists,and 3 Public Health Nurses who work closely
with the medical staff to offer a team approach to disease prevention, management and treatment.
The Pharmacy Department is staffed with 4 pharmacists and 2 pharmacy technicians and offers an
anticoagulation clinic. This referral based clinic manages all of the clinic's patients that
require anticoagulation therapy and is nationally recognized.
The Dental Department is staffed with 4 dentists, 7 dental assistants, and a receptionist. Two contracted dental hygienists provide full time coverage for patients requiring this service.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
An extended-hours clinic is available every Thursday of the month from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm for those patients that work during the day and for those patients that cannot come during regular
clinic hours for other reasons. Sign-in is between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm and is limited due to staffing available during this time.
