IHS VA Collaboration

IHS Office of Information Technology (OIT) has entered into an agreement with the Department of Veteran's Affairs (VA) to assist with setup, training, and implementation of BCMA throughout Indian Country. IHS primarily works with VA's Bar Code Resource Office (BCRO) who has been instrumental in accessing other VA resources to bring to the project. Other VA resources included on the project are the Employee Education Service (EES) and VA Office of Information Technology (VA OIT). IHS OIT and VA BCRO have established an Inter-Agency Cross-Functional Team (CFT) to provide coordination between IHS and VA in standing up BCMA in IHS. Beyond BCRO and IHS OIT, the CFT also includes representatives from each IHS Area and Facility at which BCMA will be implemented. This collaboration assures that the needs of all parties are met and IHS is supported throughout the project.

The following documents clearly delineate the collaboration effort from IHS and VA perspectives.
