Preventive Health Care

Men's Health: Why It Matters
Men make up nearly half the population and are integral contributors to our communities, bringing support, love and guidance to our families. Prevention is important for all of us, and encouraging preventative health in men is an important, but sometimes overlooked part of healthcare.
Just like you wouldnâ??t skip oil changes or ignore a dashboard warning light and expect your car to run smoothly, we canâ??t ignore menâ??s health and expect healthy families and communities.
Preventive maintenance keeps an engine running strong – regular oil changes, fluid checks, and tune-ups all help prevent bigger problems down the road. The same is true for your physical and mental health. Taking time for checkups, vaccines, and healthy habits keeps you running at your best and ready for whatever life throws your way.
The best way to prevent, slow, or reduce the affects of diseases and conditions is to take steps to keep them from happening in the first place! There are many steps you can take that will keep you healthier over your lifetime. Not all diseases and conditions can be avoided, but good health habits make a big difference in preventing disease and promoting health.
When men take care of themselves, they're better able to take care of others – showing up for their families, supporting friends and coworkers, and enjoying life to the fullest.
