Note: The FY 2015 required training originally scheduled for September 16, 2015 has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled. As such, there are no more FY 2015 required trainings scheduled for current SDPI Community-Directed grantees. Be sure to read the updated training requirements below to fulfill training needs for FY 2015. For questions about this change, contact the Division of Diabetes.
Training Requirements for SDPI Community-Directed Grant Programs
The SDPI Community-Directed grant Terms and Conditions from the Notice of Award states that grantees must participate in SDPI training requirements established by the Division of Diabetes. To fulfill this requirement, at least one grant program representative or staff member must attend the training. It does not have to be the entire program staff.
SDPI Community-Directed Grantee Programs will participate in 3 training opportunities in their Budget Cycle. More information on budget cycle timeframes are found on the SDPI Community-Directed Timetable. [PDF - 107KB]
One of the trainings is hosted by the Division of Diabetes SDPI Training Program. Continuation Education (CE) credits are not offered for SDPI Trainings.

It is the grantees responsibility to maintain a training log or binder with record of attendance – keeping a Certificate of Attendance is recommended, if available for that training opportunity. Most certificates are available at the end of the training evaluation.
Grantees may be subject to a random audit on training records for participation in trainings. Sample training tracking tools may be used to assist in tracking; however grantees may create a tracking method that suits their program's needs. Please note the required training originally scheduled for September 16, 2015 has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
Grant programs will report their training attendance on their Annual Progress Report.

Note: SDPI training sessions do not carry CME/CE credit.
