Training Requirements for SDPI Community-Directed Grant Programs

  1. The SDPI Community-Directed grant Terms and Conditions from the Notice of Award states that grantees must participate in SDPI training requirements established by the Division of Diabetes. To fulfill this requirement, at least one grant program representative or staff member must attend the training. It does not have to be the entire program staff.
  2. SDPI Community-Directed Grantee Programs will participate in 4 training opportunities in their Budget Cycle. More information on budget cycle timeframes are found on the SDPI Community-Directed Timetable. [PDF - 103KB]
  3. Two trainings are hosted by the Division of Diabetes SDPI Training Program. Continuation Education (CE) credits are not offered for SDPI Trainings.

  4. Two trainings are the grantees choice from the options provided on the SDPI Training Options page.

  5. Trainings must occur in the grantees budget cycle time frame (see SDPI Community-Directed Timetable [PDF - 103KB] for reference). Grantees should aim for completing a training per quarter.
  6. It is the grantees responsibility to maintain a training log or binder with record of attendance – keeping a Certificate of Attendance is recommended, if available for that training opportunity. Most certificates are available at the end of the training evaluation.
  7. Grantees may be subject to a random audit on training records for participation in trainings. Sample training tracking tools may be used to assist in tracking; however grantees may create a tracking method that suits their program's needs.
  8. Grant programs will report their training attendance on their Annual Progress Report.
