BACKGROUND

The purpose of this Transmittal Notice (TN) is to rescind Delegation of Authority (DOA), Commissioned Corps #3, "Authority to Issue Identification Cards to Public Health Service Commissioned Corps Officers and Their Dependants."

This DOA is being rescinded to reflect the changes in the issuance of Uniformed Service Identification (ID) Cards.  Commissioned Corps Officers and their dependents are required to obtain their Uniformed Service ID Cards, through the Office of Commissioned Corps Operations, or approved Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System Uniform Services ID issuing facility.  IHS no longer has the authority to issue Uniformed Service ID cards.

Remove and discard the current copies of DOA, Commissioned Corps #3, "Authority to Issue Identification Cards to Pubic Health Service Commissioned Corps Officers and Their Dependants," dated November 23, 1988, from your manual system binders.

Log and file this TN in sequential order.
