| Duties: | Responsibilities: • Participation on a multidisciplinary team that treats individuals who receive psychiatric treatment, to include case consultation and management, peer review, and program development. • Collaboration, coordination, and client advocacy with families, other health care providers, and or/community resources to ensure appropriate utilization of health care resources. • Provide same-day evaluation and possible stabilization for clients in crisis and stabilize or make appropriate referrals to community crisis services. • Conduct psychosocial evaluations and provide therapeutic intervention to include crisis assessment and counseling to individuals, groups, and families as needed to facilitate behavioral health clinical care management and to optimize care. • Perform advanced psychiatric diagnostic assessments to determine appropriate diagnosis and treatment plan, to include psychopharmacological intervention if appropriate, and provide ongoing medication management. Utilize appropriate measurements and mental status examination to validate DSMV diagnosis. • Practice in an independent role while consulting and collaborating with department staff and community partners. • Provide individual and family therapy for children, adolescents, and adults as identified in treatment plan in an outpatient psychiatric setting based on respective training and standards of practice. • Develop a comprehensive treatment care plan in accordance with behavioral health care standards for clients and their families. • Provide psycho education to clients, families, and significant others re: illness/condition, medications, and available resources while respecting client confidentiality. • Develop, implement, and maintain partnership with client, other health care providers, and community resources as applicable. • Attend and participate in meetings and professional staff conferences as well as other appropriate professional activities such as, but not limited to: Quality Improvement meetings, professional staff meetings, safety or other committees per request of Program Manager. • Maintain complete and accurate records and document all client contacts and services provided in accordance with professional standards. Enter client clinical and administrative data or other data into electronic record system within Cowlitz Indian Tribe established guidelines and requirements. These records must remain in compliance, fall within standard timeframes, and will be subject to review. All records are considered property of Cowlitz Indian Tribe. • Abide by all Cowlitz Indian Tribal laws and CARF requirements with regard to utilization review and quality improvement directives including but not limited to: in-service training, peer review, performance improvement, record maintenance, performance evaluations, HIPAA regulations regarding client confidentiality and request/release of information. • Participate as appropriate in quality assurance programs and adhere to all safety regulations at all times. Attend and participate in client care conferences, team conferences, professional staff conferences and any other appropriate professional activities as requested by Program Manager. • Present client cases in regularly-scheduled case staffing meetings to discuss status, updates, collaboration, referral, deposition, consultation, and recommendations. • Maintain and practice confidentiality. |
| Qualifications: | Education: Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing, and a specialty as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Licensure/Certification: Possess and maintain a current, active, valid, unrestricted license as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority for children and adults. Must be board certified by ANCC. Specific Required Qualifications: • Must have a minimum of one year of experience with providing psychopharmacological intervention. • Must possess and maintain current course completion documentation for basic cardiac life support (BCLS) through American Heart Association. • Must possess knowledge of the principles and practices of psychiatric nursing, diagnosis and treatment planning, psychopharmacological interventions, and provision of psychotherapy. • Must have knowledge of community resources and referral agencies. • Must have the ability to perform individual and family interventions for children, adolescents and adults in an outpatient mental health setting. • Must submit and pass drug screening and criminal background check. Additional Desirable Qualifications: Experience working within the urban Indian community and/or with communities disproportionately underserved is desirable. Experience and/or education in perinatal mental health issues is also desirable.
