Summary: | To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Engineering Technical Series 0802 (opm.gov) In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Capable of checking lines and grades, measuring quantities installed, preparing as-built sketches. Inspects construction materials and workmanship. Maintains daily construction logs. Prepares inspection reports. Confirms conformance to drawings and specifications. Capable of using survey equipment including GPS equipment, total stations, and levels. GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Using knowledge of engineering and sanitation systems to complete drawings and specifications. Coordinating with engineering in understanding the design objectives and the needs of the project. Participating or leading survey crews involved in the collection of data and using that data in the development of engineered designs and construction drawings; doing so using modern surveying and drafting equipment including Total stations, and computer-aided drafting software such as AutoCAD. Investigates malfunctioning water and sewer system components and makes preliminary diagnosis. GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Collects and analyzes data on local water distribution systems, water storage facilities, sewage or waste treatment systems for design of new construction. Conducts on-site inspections of uncomplicated projects under contract to ensure that proper specification are being observed. Sets and/or verifies location and grade stakes during construction per approved survey specifications. Prepares technical specifications of construction material, estimates type, capacity, and cost of construction, equipment, and materials. Prepares uncomplicated designs for water and sewer systems. Estimate cost, manpower and material necessary to build water and sewer systems and submits recommendation to higher authority. GS-08: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Prepares detailed construction and records drawings from marked up drawings, field notes, survey data, sketches, and other pertinent reference materials using computer aided drafting software (AutoCAD Civil 3D). Confirms conformance to drawings and specifications. Prepares multiple engineering reports. Instructs other employees on survey tasks and prepares required documentation including field notes and adjusted level notes, site sketches and information on physical objects observed in the field. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Completes design work in Civil3D including the development of plan and profile drawings and earthwork calculations. Confirms conformance to drawings and specifications. Prepares multiple engineering reports. Leading survey crews involved in the collection of data while using a full complement of survey equipment including GPS equipment, total stations, and levels to perform field surveys that included the following: alignments, topographic surveys, closed level circuits, cross-sectional surveys, traverse surveys, construction and as-built surveys. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. |
