Summary: To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be eligible for consideration, you must meet either of the requirements set for the grade levels to which you are applying. GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance of medical and dental equipment along with fundamental knowledge in networking and basic computer skills. OR 1 full year (18 semester hours) of graduate level education that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Completion of a Bachelor's degree in a field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position with one of the following: (1) Graduated with at least an overall GPA of 2.95, (2) Graduated with at least a 3.45 GPA in my major or during the last two years of college; (3) Graduated in the top third of my class; or (4) Have been a member of a national scholastic honor society recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies. OR Possess a qualifying combination of the specialized experience and education that when combined fully meet the minimum qualification for this position. To determine if you qualify under this combination first divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18 or by the number of hours your school has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. Finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Note: You must provide copies of your graduate transcripts. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Installing, testing, maintaining and documentation of a variety of medical and dental equipment used for patient diagnosis and treatment. Application of mechanical, electrical, and electronic principles and circuitry. Troubleshoot malfunctions and document and communicate results to Healthcare Technology management personnel. Equipment used at this level are electronically sophisticated such as defibrillators and respiratory ventilators. OR Completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years (36 semester hours) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR Possess a qualifying combination of the specialized experience and education that when combined fully meet the minimum qualification for this position. To determine if you qualify under this combination divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond 1 year by 18. (Note: Only education in excess of the first year is creditable toward meeting the experience requirement when combining experience and education.) Add the two percentages the total must equal at least 100%. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance of sophisticated medical and dental equipment. Experience in selection, installation, modifications, testing and evaluation of medical and dental equipment. Providing documentation, consultative, and instruction service to medical and dental staff, and administrative personnel. Experience with Healthcare Technology Management equipment statutory regulations, maintain compliance and accreditation. OR Completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years (54 semester hours) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR Possess a qualifying combination of the specialized experience and education that when combined fully meet the minimum qualification for this position. To determine if you qualify under this combination divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond 2 years by 18. (Note: Only education in excess of the first year is creditable toward meeting the experience requirement when combining experience and education.) Add the two percentages the total must equal at least 100%. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the cut-off date of the announcement.
