Summary: The Pueblo of Jemez is a federally recognized sovereign Native American nation in central New Mexico with a 2014 population of 3,719. The Pueblo of Jemez government provides services to its citizens and protects them. It ensures that proper infrastructure are set up and well maintained for the people to be happy, safe and healthy. Current operations include health and human services, education services, police protection, emergency medical services, judicial services, public works, natural resources management, social services, housing and community development - most of which are funded by federal and state governments compacts, contracts and grants. The Jemez Comprehensive Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center providing comprehensive primary care and preventive care and hosts a medical clinic, dental clinic, optometry clinic, pharmacy, radiology services, mental health and substance abuse services and several community health programs.

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients in an outpatient clinic setting.
Duties: Performs medical assessments of patients; establishes and monitors a medically appropriate level of care for patients; encourages health education and preventive medical care, where appropriate. • Collects appropriate histories of patients with medical problems, maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records and prepares reports as required. • Counsels on medical and/or psychological problems; may counsel patients on personal problems and health measures; refers patients for medical and/or other treatment, when appropriate. • Consults with private physicians and public agencies in securing treatments for patients requiring services beyond those available at the clinic. • Works with Counseling Services staff in cases presenting with mental health problems. • Reviews history, examination, and treatment plans made by Physician Assistants. • Ensures compliance with regulatory and legal requirements. • Stays current on developments in the field of medicine; responsible for professional practice through active participation in professional organizations and continuing education.
Qualifications: Education and Experience: M.D./O.D. from an accredited medical school; AND three (3) years of family medical residency experience. Required certificates, license and registrations: • Board Certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. • Valid license from the New Mexico Medical Board • Valid DEA license for Schedule 2, 2N,3, 3N,4, and 5 • Valid New Mexico Controlled Substance Registration
