Summary: Summary: The San Diego American Indian Health Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the role of Clinic Nurse Manager. This individual will work within the medical department under the supervision of the medical director. They will be an active floor manager and act as a liaison between providers and front desks to oversee efficient patient care, support primary care providers, provide triage, and supervise medical assistants. Individuals who possess experience working in community clinics/FQHCs, as well as knowledge of American Indians and the underserved/underinsured is preferred. Duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the RN Clinic Manager: 1) Performs nursing activities in support of patient care and assists in day-to-day activities of the medical staff. 2) Establishes rapport and good working relationships with the providers. Manages clinical needs of providers. Meets on a regular basis with the Chief Medical Officer and staff to review patient care. 3) Management of patient data and information requested from third party organizations (i.e. contracted insurance companies). Ensures proper data submission and reported as requested by third party organizations. 4) Responsibility for meaningful use patient mail-outs in coordination with the fiscal department. 5) Maintains the Material and Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for the clinic, assisting the other departmental safety officers in assuring they have the appropriate MSDS. 6) Manages the ordering and stocking of medications and supplies for the medical clinic. 7) Manages the vaccine stock from the County immunization program and complies with County standards; manages the vaccine usage report. Ensures that staff is properly charting refrigerator/freezer temperatures; reviews temperatures daily and reports errors and deficiencies as necessary. 8) Sanitizes medical equipment and examination rooms and handles biohazardous material (as outlined in the clinic's safety manual).
Qualifications: Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary, essential duty and responsibilities set forth in this position performance standard policy. Education and/or Experience : Bachelor's degree in nursing from a four year college or university (RN). Experience in managerial role. Experience working in a community health clinic.
