This position performs a full range of individualized physical therapy treatments while developing and learning the skills and knowledge necessary to apply more advanced and/or specialized treatments. Duties: Consults with physicians and/or supervisors to determine treatment plan. Plans and performs physical therapy for neurologically and physically impaired clients, including soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, gait training and muscle re?education through corrective exercises. Schedules and administers evaluations; conducts home assessments for equipment needs; and performs school consultations to establish school directed activities, such as standing programs. Administers tests such as manual muscle tests, joint range of motion, reflex testing, postural assessment, gait analysis, and functional mobility. Attends appropriate clinics, management meetings and case conferences to discuss client status. Instructs clients, family members, and caregivers regarding home exercise programs and equipment needs. Observes, evaluates and records client's treatment, reactions, and progress and reports changes to physician. Counsels and refers clients to vocational rehabilitation programs for further testing and training. Assists in advanced care specialty clinics. Evaluates and orders appropriate mobility equipment and orthotic devices as prescribed. May act in a lead capacity, which includes assigning, reviewing and coordinating the work of staff, student interns, volunteers and administering physical therapy programs. May serve as a mentor to the Physical Therapist I. Assists in training and overseeing therapy aides in the treatment of clients. Instructs patients in pain management, injury prevention, posture correction and body mechanics. Provides in-patient services. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of direct work experience. EDUCATION: Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Program. Active, unrestricted Physical Therapist State License in any U.S. State or Territory.
