This course gives an overview of how to design, conduct, and evaluate an oral health prevention program. The concepts in this course may be applied to either clinic based or community based programs. Any member of the dental team will benefit from this course.
This course will be done over a four week period and is completely online. Each participant will use local information to plan a prevention program that will work in his/her clinic or community.
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
1. Describe each element of the POARE model.
2. Write Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time Bound [SMART] objectives.
3. Identify at least one evidence based prevention activity for an oral health issue.
