Summary:

An accreditation review can be extremely stressful for dental directors. In addition to the typical accreditation standards, becoming a designated Dental Home is another level of accreditation achievement. What does it take to become a dental home, and what does becoming an ‘AAAHC-designated Dental Home’ actually mean? In this presentation, you will learn about what an AAAHC Dental Home designation is, why it is beneficial, and how to achieve this designation.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1.    Be able to identify what an AAAHC Dental Home designation means and why it is important
2.    Be able to identify how to meet basic Dental Home AAAHC accreditation standards
3.    Understand basics of what a QI study is

The speaker has no conflicts of interest to report. Dr. Jenna Lotz serves as the Chief Dental Officer at the Jicarilla Service Unit [JSU] in Dulce, New Mexico. She grew up in Indiana and attended undergraduate at New Mexico State University. She began dental school at Oregon Health and Sciences and transferred and graduated from Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. She began her IHS career in 2017 serving 3 years at JSU, then because of COVID, she and her husband moved to work in IHS together in Minnesota from 2020-2023. In November of 2023, they were happy to move back to Chama, NM and now work together at JSU!

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
