Transmittal Notice 17-12

BACKGROUND

The purpose of this Transmittal Notice (TN) is to transmit a copy of the revised Part 7, Chapter 7, "Performance Management Appraisal Program," Indian Health Manual (IHM).  This chapter revises and updates the policy and procedures to effectively administer the Indian Health Service (IHS) Performance Management Appraisal Program. The policy is being revised to remove the requirement that Commissioned Corps Personnel be included in annual IHS Performance reviews.  Performance management for Commissioned Corps Officers in the IHS is carried out in a manner consistent with the timelines and procedures outlined in Commissioned Corps Instruction, CC351.01, Commissioned Officer's Effectiveness Report.

Indian Health Manual 7-7, dated March 25, 2012

MANUAL MAINTENANCE

Remove the current copy of 7-7, "Performance Management Appraisal Program," IHM, Chapter only, and discard.  The existing Manual Exhibits for the Chapter remain in place.  Insert the attached copy of 7-7, "Performance Management Appraisal Program," IHM, Chapter to include the chapter Table of Contents, in its place after 7-6, IHM.  Log and file this TN in sequential order.
