Office of Management Services

The Office of Management Services (OMS) is located in the Indian Health Service (IHS), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), in Rockville, Maryland. OMS is responsible for a wide range of functions that are critical to the IHS' mission, and to American Indians/Alaska Natives.

OMS provides information to public via FOIA requests, performs technical assistance to other offices and grantees, and is the hub of policy coordination in IHS Headquarters. OMS is the primary focal point for acquisitions, grants, cooperative agreements, property and emergency services. OMS provides Agency leadership in program management, and advises the IHS Director and senior leadership on areas concerning management of grants, acquisitions, records management, personal property, supply, and the regulations program. OMS also coordinates and collaborates with HHS, OMB, and other Agencies to provide reports, collaborate, and discuss best practices, partnerships and resources to fulfill the IHS mission.
