Electronic Health Manuals
The CHAP is developing national electronic health manuals to support Community Health Aides/Practitioners (CHA/Ps) and Behavioral Health Aides/Practitioners (BHA/Ps) in delivering high-quality, evidence-informed care. Once available, these web-based resources will provide standardized clinical guidance to support patient assessment, treatment, referral, care planning, and other core responsibilities within each provider's scope of practice. Designed to complement training and support clinical decision-making, the national manuals will promote consistency in care delivery while serving as valuable references for supervising providers and multidisciplinary care teams.
The National Electronic Community Health Aide Manual (eCHAM)
The National eCHAM is currently under development and will serve as the web-based version of the Community Health Aide Manual (CHAM), the primary clinical reference for CHA/Ps. Once available, it will provide convenient access to standardized clinical guidance that supports patient assessment, treatment, and referral within the CHA scope of practice.
The Alaska eCHAM serves as the current electronic clinical manual for CHA/Ps in Alaska.
The National Electronic Behavioral Health Aide Manual (eBHAM)
The National eBHAM is currently under development and will serve as the web-based clinical reference for BHA/Ps. Once available, it will provide standardized guidance to support the delivery of behavioral health services, reinforce training, and support clinical decision-making within each provider's scope of practice. The National eBHAM will also serve as a resource for supervising providers and multidisciplinary care teams, promoting safe, consistent, and evidence-informed care.
