CE Activity Types and Documents
Please take the time to review the description details following each section as this information will assist you in the completion of the corresponding form for the type of CE activity you are planning.
Live CE activities including courses, conferences, and workshops, take place at a specified date, time and location. These are courses more than two hours in length and occur either in person or as live webcasts.
Regularly Scheduled Series
Regularly Scheduled Series (RSS) are live CE activities that (1) have multiple sessions, with a broad set of objectives that span the course of a calendar year, (2) occur on an ongoing basis (offered weekly, monthly, or quarterly) and (3) are primarily planned by and for the local healthcare team. Examples include Grand Rounds, Tumor Boards, Journal Clubs and M&M Conferences. RSS events are generally offered at a set time each week, month, or quarter, with varied subject matter and topics.
Enduring Materials constitute a separate type of planned continuing education designed primarily as self-study activities that may be used over time. The non-live CE activity are typically printed, recorded, or computer-assisted instructional materials such as audio and video files, monographs, CD-ROMs, DVDs, and web-based learning modules, which may be used either alone or in combination with written materials for independent learning at any time in any place.
