Summary:

This session is part of the Nashville CE series.
This WebEx training will walk participants through how to track key quality measures in the RPMS DDS package. Even though there are some limitations to tracking in the DDS package, some key measures such as post-surgical complication rates, percentage of patients receiving exams and treatment plans, percentage of patients completing treatment, and the proportion of patients in a specific age group receiving services can be tracked easily and regularly to assess quality of care. This interactive session will also include participants identifying key quality measures in their program and determining whether the DDS package can track those measures.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this session, the participant will be able to:
1. Develop quality benchmarks for your dental program.
2. Demonstrate using RPMS to gather baseline data on quality of care issues in a dental program.
3. Describe the limitations of using RPMS to track quality.
4. Use the DDS package to track the following measures:
· Post-surgical complication rate [extraction codes followed by 9930]
· Amalgam/composite success rates [amalgams or composites followed by replacement or extraction within x days]
· Sealant retention rate [1351 followed by 1351 within x days]
· Endodontic completion rate [3221 followed by 3300 series]
