The IHS DOH welcomes dental volunteers and is here to assist you through the Dental Volunteer Onboarding Process. Please plan ahead as the onboarding process may take 60-90 days.
The IHS Division of Oral Health Volunteer Coordinator can be reached at IHSDentalVolunteer@ihs.gov, please contact them with your interest in volunteering and they will be happy to assist you through the process.
Please keep in mind the IHS DOH Volunteering requirements:
- 3 week minimum time commitment (15 clinic days)
- Must be credentialed and privileged at each facility in which dental services are provided
- Current malpractice insurance — verified by contact with the malpractice carrier, and verification that coverage extends to clinic location where the dentist is volunteering
