Food Safety Trainings

Learning about food safety is easy and convenient with our online trainings! If you know how to use a computer and have internet with sound (speakers or headphones), you’re all set. We offer two courses—just scroll down, pick the one that matches where you’ll be selling food, and click “Begin Training” to get started. For questions, please contact us.

Online Food Handler Training – Food Handler Certificate

The Indian Health Service (IHS), Division of Environmental Health Services, offers Online Food Handler Training for anyone who needs a Food Handler Certificate to sell or prepare food on tribal lands. The course includes a 1-hour interactive session and a 20-question quiz. You’ll need a score of 70% or higher to pass. Plan about 1.5 hours total. After finishing, you can print your Food Handler Certificate. Please note: the certificate shows you completed the training—it is not a food sales permit. Some Tribes or jurisdictions may accept it, but rules vary. Be sure to check local requirements.
