AUTHORITY DELEGATED
Pursuant to the authorities delegated to the Director, Indian Health Service (IHS), as specified in the Reorganization Order of January 4, 1988, (52 FR 47053), which elevated the IHS to a Public Health Service (PHS) Agency, I hereby delegate to the officials listed below the authority to approve short-term training outside the Service not to exceed seven semester hours and/or ninety calendar days pursuant to the PHS Act - 42 U.S.C. 218(a) & Section 21.202, PHS Regulations.

Deputy Director for Indian Health Policy
Deputy Director for Management Operations
Chief Medical Officer
Area Directors
AUTHORITY TO REDELEGATE
This authority may be redelegated.
RESTRICTIONS AND LIMITATION
Short-term training outside the Service is not to exceed seven semester hours and/or ninety calendar days.
SUPERSESSION
This delegation supersedes the previous delegation of authority located in the Indian Health Manual, Commissioned Corps Delegation #6, ?Outside the Service Short-term Training,? dated November 23, 1988.
EFFECTIVE DATE
This delegation is effective on the date of signature.
