Pursuant to the authority delegated to the Director, Indian Health Service (IHS) by the Assistant Secretary for Administration, United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), dated May 9, 2022, and HHS Instruction 550-1, Premium Pay [PDF] Exit Disclaimer: You Are Leaving www.ihs.gov , I hereby delegate the following authorities:

  1. Approve premium pay authorized by 5 United States Code (U.S. Code), Chapter 55 and 5 CFR Part 550.
  2. Determine that an emergency situation exists, as defined in 5 CFR 550.103, for the purpose of permitting the limit on the aggregate of basic pay and premium in 5 U.S. Code 5547 to be exceeded.
