Program Delegation #22

AUTHORITY DELEGATED

Pursuant to the authorities delegated to the Director, Indian Health Service (IHS), in the May 17, 2012, Memorandum from the Assistant Secretary for Administration "Delegation of Authority under Executive Order 12196, as amended, and 29 C.F.R. 1960 et seq., as amended, Regarding the Agency's Occupational Safety and Health Program."  I hereby designate the position of Director, Office of Environmental Health and Engineering as the IHS Designated Agency Safety and Health Official (DASHO).  The DASHO is responsible for but not limited to; ensuring all "serious" facility, safety and/or environmental incidents are reported to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in accordance with guidelines and points of contact on the HHS website.

The authorities delegated shall be exercised in accordance with Executive Order 12196, as amended and 29 C.F.R. 1960 et seq., as amended.

AUTHORITY TO REDELEGATE

This authority may not be redelegated.

SUPERSESSION

This delegation supersedes the previous delegation of authority located in the Indian Health Manual, Program Delegation #22, dated July 9, 2013.

EFFECTIVE DATE

This delegation is effective upon date of signature.
