Transmittal Notice 20-03

BACKGROUND:

The purpose of this Transmittal Notice (TN) is to transmit a copy of the revised Part 3, Chapter 35, “Dispensing of Naloxone to First Responders and Community Representatives,” Indian Health Manual (IHM). This chapter expands access to naloxone, the opioid overdose reversal agent that is an essential element of the IHS strategy to reduce overdose mortality associated with opioid use disorder.

MATERIAL SUPERSEDED:

Part 3, Chapter 35, “Dispensing of Naloxone to First Responders” dated, March 12, 2018.


MANUAL MAINTENANCE:

Remove Part 3, Chapter 35, “Dispensing of Naloxone to First Responders,” dated March 12, 2018, in its entirety and insert the attached copy of Part 3, Chapter 35, “Dispensing of Naloxone to First Responders and Community Representatives,” IHM, including the chapter Table of Contents and all Manual Exhibits, in its place after Part 3, Chapter 34, IHM.

Log and file this TN in sequential order.
