Student Loan Reimbursement with Indian Health Services As a Tribal Health facility, our optometry clinic serves Federally-recognized American Indians and our Ho-Chunk Nation non-tribal member employees. Optometry services include: routine eye exams, adjustments and minor eyeglass repairs, evaluation and treatment of minor eye infections, dilated diabetic eye exams, ordering eyeglasses and contacts, contact lens fittings. |
| Duties: | Interview, secure, or review case histories of patients and conduct examinations. Analyze visual functions-visual acuity, field of vision, depth and color perceptions, and ocular coordination. Use objective and subjective methods for the detection of ocular and systemic disease apparent in the eyes and recommend referrals of cases for medical or other diagnoses. Perform refractions to assess the degree of refractive error. Prescribe subnormal vision aids, contract and conventional lenses. Verify new prescriptions and determine previous prescriptions worn by patients. Perform pre- and post-op exams for providers who perform laser and /or surgical procedures. Oversee the ordering of supplies and equipment. Maintain liaison with other professional disciplines on patient or program problems. Maintain proper records and make necessary reports. Supervisor the Optometry technicians. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. |
| Qualifications: | Graduate of an Accredited School of Optometry; License to practice Optometry in Wisconsin,; Must hold or obtain CPR certification within six months of employment; valid driver's license, dependable transportation, and proper insurance. This a Full-time, M-F 8:00 to 4:30 schedule. Open until filled |
