This position serves as an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife who is responsible for providing comprehensive and continuing health and medical care services to women and newborns. |

| Duties: | Provides visionary leadership and strategic direction to produce real improvements in clinical practice and the quality of care and service to childbearing women. Assists with providing professional leadership to the integrated hospital and community midwifery team.Acts as role model and advocate for woman-centered, evidenced-based care in line with the national agenda. Explores current research, identifies areas for development and plans appropriate changes using research and experience to evaluate outcomes. Works as an expert practitioner keeping abreast of current practices and maintaining clinical credibility by regularly participating in clinical practice. Provides midwifery care to women in the prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum periods. Including prenatal visits, antepartum testing, attendance during labor, vaginal deliveries, assisting with cesarean sections, repair of vulvar/vaginal lacerations, immediate and outpatient postpartum care. Provides routine newborn care up to six weeks. Provides midwifery care to women of all ages in the area of well-woman gynecology. Including family planning and birth control, sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, diagnosis and treatment of minor gynecological problems and menopause. Participates in the Midwifery Services peer review, meetings, and projects. Interviews and examines patients, reviews past medical history, and requests/or performs diagnostic tests and examinations deemed necessary to obtain all possible information related to each case. Makes preliminary diagnosis, directs, prescribes or provides treatment, or arranges for specialized care or patient referral as required. Bases decision upon information obtained, professional midwifery knowledge and skills and prescribed policies and procedures. Ensures preparation of timely, appropriate medical records for all patients seen to assure the accumulation and organization of all pertinent clinical data needed to provide comprehensive medical care. Independently provides routine care for pregnancy, birth and well woman care. Gives total patient care including prevention, health maintenance, early diagnosis, treatment and follow-up services. Conducts outpatient clinics making observations appropriate to the outpatients underlying disease and treatment plan, including current symptoms. plan and patient observations. | Qualifications: | EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of Certified Nurse Midwifery Experience. EDUCATION: Completion of an accredited Master's Degree in Midwifery. Active Board Certification from the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB). Active unrestricted Midwifery license in any U.S. State or Territory. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and maintain certification. Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and maintain certification.
