Status: Full time/Full Benefits. Responsible for planning and implementing technical assistance, public health practice, research and epidemiological support services to Tribes and Urban Indian Health Programs in a three state region [Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota]. Salary will be based upon experience and qualifications. Responsibilities: As the Director of the Epidemiology Department the position is responsible for planning and implementing technical assistance, public health practice, research and epidemiological support services to Tribes and urban Indian health programs in a three-state region [Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan]. Works collaboratively with Tribal, Inter-Tribal, private, state and federal agencies to ensure that comprehensive, quality health data is available and accessible to the Native American population. Actively collaborates with other Tribal Epidemiology Centers nationally to coordinate and prepare timely response to emerging national issues. |
| Duties: | Additional Notes/Details: Travel to satellite offices in MN, MI and WI is required on a regular basis. | Qualifications: | Qualifications: 1. Master’s degree in Public Health or related field is required, A Ph.D. preferred. 2. Minimum five years of experience in project supervision and administration. 3. Previous supervisory experience is required. 4. Demonstrated excellence in inter-personal relations necessary. 5. Cross cultural experience. 6. Grant writing and funding experience required. 7. Native American Tribal organization and/or not-for-profit agency desirable Individual must possess: excellent verbal and written communication skills facilitation and conflict management skills, professional demeanor and appearance excellent problem solving skills ability to manage time effectively ability to prioritize multiple projects self-motivation skills work effectively under pressure ability to build positive work relationships with internal and external customers ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of people and ability to maintain confidentiality.
