| Duties: | Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time) 1. Under supervision of the Medical Director, examines, diagnoses, prescribes and administers treatment to patients of all age groups 2. Under supervision of the Medical Director, performs preventive health exams, following CHDP, CHG, MediCal, Medicare guidelines 3. Adheres to standards for infection control in accordance with local, state, and federal OSHA regulations 4. Maintains patient care audit process, which insures that the quality of care provided meets acceptable standards 5. Facilitates referrals to other healthcare professionals and contracted medical facilities 6. Develops and supervises Nurses, LVN's and Medical Assistants 7. Reviews the medical policies and procedures manual annually and informs Medical Director of recommended changes 8. Under Board policy direction from the Medical Director and in conjunction with the Administrative Director, establishes the goal and purpose of the health care practice for the Clinic and determines the baseline standards of care for the Clinic 9. Assists medical providers in development, implementation and periodic review of health care policies, protocols, and procedures 10. Assists the Medical staff in the development and training of staff educational programs 11. Participates in a system of internal peer review and patient chart review 12. Follows guidelines for reporting as required by Federal, State and Local agencies 13. Promotes health consumer education activities designed to promote a healthier Native American Indian community 14. Maintains regularly scheduled clinic hours 15. Attends medical staff and medical provider meetings |
| Qualifications: | Job Specifications: Education and Experience: Essential: •Master's Degree of Science in Nursing •Current License with the California State Board of Registered Nursing •DEA License in good standing •Certified Family Nurse Practitioner •1 year Family Practitioner Nursing experience •Current CPR certification Desirable: •National Nurse Practitioner Certification •Tribal Clinic experience Skills and Knowledge: Essential: •Ability to function according to standing orders developed in consultation with the Medical Director •Ability to provide and perform high quality medical services •Ability to research and analyze data and make sound judgments •Ability to remain current and up-to-date in medical practices •Ability to communicate and interact effectively with patients and staff •Ability to use Electronic Health Records •Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks •Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions •Ability to maintain confidentiality •Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing •Ability to maintain professionalism and composure •Ability to accept constructive criticism Desirable: •Multi-lingual Supervisory/Managerial Accountability: Direct: Medical Assistant I, Medical Assistant II, Indirect: Medical Staff |
