jeanettep@mtclinic.net Under general supervision of Behavioral Health Services Director, the purpose of the position is to provide psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and psychotropic medication prescribing for Tribal Clinic patients/clients utilizing BHS. |
| Duties: | EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic behavioral health problems of individuals, couples, and families. Provide consultation on mental health problems with Tribal physicians and other clinic staff when appropriate. Prescribe psychotropic medications for behavioral health clients seen through BHS, if needed. Provide mental health urgent responses by telephone to the clinic Tribal physicians and mental health staff for possible in-patient services. Maintain client records and files as required. Perform related duties as directed or assigned. |
| Qualifications: | MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Master's degree in Nursing and advanced practice as a Clinical Nurse Practitioner specializing in Psychiatric care with at least 5 years work experience as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Candidates shall be subject to a Caregiver background check. Candidates selected for hire will be subject to a drug test and employment will be contingent upon results of said test. PERFORMANCE APTITUDES Data Utilization: Requires the ability to perform upper level data analysis, including the ability to hypothesize, theorize, and assimilate, to modify or adapt existing policies/methods to meet unusual conditions within the context of existing theories and management principles. Human Interaction: Requires the ability to oversee professional patient care. |
