Operating on a family medicine model, WIHCC provides health care services to all Native Americans as well as their beneficiaries and dependents. WIHCC strongly believes that no one should ever have to go without medical care.

Under general supervision of the Chief Pharmacist, the Clinical Pharmacist provides direct pharmaceutical care in the outpatient pharmacy program within Winslow Indian Health Care Center. This position is considered as the major source of pharmaceutical clinical information and is expected to manage selected patients with chronic disease states, as well as providing pharmaceutical care for acute patients. Upholds the principles of WIHCC's Vision, Mission, and Value Statements. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information at all times.
Duties: Maintains regular attendance and punctuality. Provide outpatient pharmacy care for the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Read and Interpret prescriptions, compute dosages, weigh and measure drugs and mix and compound drugs and chemicals. Resolve problems related to the clinical, chemical and therapeutic applications of drugs, including biopharmaceutical effectiveness, utilization of new therapeutic agents and special formula and dosage requirements. Interpret prescriptions and dispense products prescribed which require accuracy in dosage and identification of therapeutic incompatibilities to avoid serious injury or death to the patient. Instruct discharged patients on the proper use, actions, precaution and storage of their medications, and document patient health records. Under protocol, initiate, adjust, monitor, and recommend changes in drug therapy based on information obtained through patient interviews, objective monitoring parameters, review of drug profiles and the patient medical record. Provides patient monitoring for the purpose of evaluating and optimizing patient outcomes, drug utilization and patient including predictable actions, side effects, reasons for proper compliance, and any special instruction. Responds to inquiries concerning drug contents, dosages, regimen reviews, errors, storage and disposal, and biological Provides education to providers and staff via presentations, drug utilization reviews Supports pharmacy administration in developing goals to achieve a high and consistent level of service Planning, developing and implementing pharmacy policies and procedures training, developing and supervising ancillary Pharmacy Staff Attend department meetings and other assigned meetings Supports compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations. Uphold all principles of confidentiality and patient care to the fullest extent. Adhere to all professional and ethical behavior standards of the healthcare industry. Interact in an honest, trustworthy and dependable manner with patients, employees and vendors. Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity. Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy and Licensed by a State Board of Pharmacy. Specialty board certification or completion of an ambulatory or hospital residency and National Certification in one chronic disease state are preferred. Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer services required Bilingual skills in English and Navajo language preferred Valid unrestricted and insurable driver's license
