Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) is an Alaska Native non-profit corporation that works toward meeting the health and social service needs of Tribal members and beneficiaries throughout the 235,000 square mile region in Interior Alaska (an area just slightly smaller than the state of Texas). Not only is TCC responsible for the healthcare delivery in villages throughout Interior Alaska, we also own and operate the Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center (CAIHC) in Fairbanks - making us the second largest healthcare provider in the city. TCC is currently in the process of expanding our health services to include urgent care, hematology, oncology, outpatient specialty clinics and an ambulatory surgery center and we are seeking qualified candidates to join our team.

Job incumbent examines individuals requiring dental care. Diagnoses patient's dental conditions and prescribes and carries out, or directs others in carrying out appropriate therapy in conformance with approved clinical practices. Educates dental program staff in the nature of oral health related conditions and in the general promotion of health and the prevention of oral disease.

Representative Duties: Under the general supervision of the Dental Director, job incumbent: 1. Records patient-dentist transactions as they occur in the medical/dental record (in an organized format utilizing standard nomenclature) so that the record accurately reflects the nature of the contact, the condition of the patient, and the care provided. Completes referrals, data collection instruments and other records or paper work as required. 2. Serves on medical/dental staff committees as assigned and participates in the quality assurance program of the center. 3. Assists in the provision of continuing education and on-the-job training, and orientation of center staff as requested. 4. Assists in the provision of technical assistance and health education to the community as requested. Other Responsibilities: 1. Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: 1. Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from an A.D.A. approved school of dentistry. 2. Knowledge of the basic concepts, principles, and practices of supervision and the ability to apply them. 3. CPR certification. 4. Must pass background check pursuant to federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 5. Strong verbal, interpersonal, and analytical skills. 6. Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of Dentistry and allied services. 7. Ability to adapt to fast changing environment. 8. Must maintain strict confidentiality.
