Summary: |
This position is full time and involves providing care in both the clinic and school setting Provides a quality rehabilitation program to restore the patient to their normal lifestyle and/or improve the quality of life; plans and implements occupational therapy programs and activities. |
Duties: | 1. Plans and implements occupational therapy programs and activities. 2. Interprets recommendations, interviews and assesses capacities and limitations; reviews progress reports and consults with appropriate personnel, and prepares and presents pertinent professional records and reports 3. Collaborates with referring providers in the placement of patient in occupational therapy work and initiates contact with appropriate individuals, allied professional and administrative personnel. 4. Explains, demonstrates and interprets the role and function of occupational therapy. 5. Works with multi-disciplinary team and physicians to plan, implements and evaluates treatment programs for Outpatient, Acute, Long-Term Care and/or Home Health patients. 6. Performs occupational therapy treatments and instructs patients and/or family members in proper care and techniques. 7. Evaluates, charts and reports patient's progress throughout the planned therapy program. 8. Provides occupational therapy treatments, interventions to Outpatient, acute, long-term care, home health and to contract agencies as assigned. 9. Formulates a complete evaluation of the impact of the disease the participation of patients in valued life roles, activities of daily living (BADL and IADL), work and leisure. 10. Plans treatment programs to be delivered by an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), Home Health Aide, or Certified Nursing Assistant as indicated, and oversee the delivery of care. 11. Performs all other duties as requested |
Qualifications: | • At least 6 months previous clinical experience. • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent combination of education and experience • Current State licensure as an Occupational Therapist • Current BLS certificate or the ability to obtain within 30 days |
